Principals 'study' mobile tower radiation
MUMBAI: Principals from nearly 35 schools in the western suburbs got together at Podar Education Complex in Santa Cruz on Monday and discussed the effects of radiation from mobile towers. The highlight of the meeting was a talk by an expert on myths about mobile tower radiation. "Mobile tower radiation has always been an issue, especially in case of schools which have a large number of children present. We agreed that we cannot do away with technology.
The talk really helped us," said Rekha Vijaykar, director, Guru Harkrishan High School, Santa Cruz (W).
The discussion took place during the monthly meeting for participants of the Open Forum for Principals (OFP). "We invite people from the corporate sector and the health industry to share their insights on topics that affect principals or schools. Many principals said that mobile tower radiation was a concern and were relieved to know that not all the so-called problems were true," said Girish Dalvi of the Nrityanjali Trust that facilitates OFP.
